as far as i as a pc noob understood u can ping the ip to see if the server are online?

You can check out your ping. So, if you lag or not.
Sometimes I also used it just to check if I lag and if yes what was the reason for, besides from provider^^
sure, there are probably other things too what you can start with, but I don´t think that´s legal.

I think its like you have to -> start -> run -> " cmd " -> write the ip
but there left something :/

In windows XP, you can put "ping 195.122.162.31 -t" in run box.

If you have Windows 7, you need to open command box first.

Yeah !! .. It is very slow ... German should get around 137 ms. For me, it is 113 ms from USA.

Mine is 40-50 ms o.o.
