extreme laggs

the reason why i havent been online since i got my laptop back is, that its totally unplayable... im testing sometimes with another account but hast much sense... everytime 1-2 secs delay and nbs nbs nbs....

what i dont get is that its a new pc.. its better than my old one and i tested at 2 different places the internet connection but it just got worse

so heres my question... i dont know much about computer.. are there some settings at vista i should check/change?

i allready closed progs used game booster and so on.

tuneup 2010?
w-lan? -> check driver + distance maybe ?
moreover, try to get the newest drivers
crossovercable? -> check the cable

cablez better than wlan

check driver of network card

delete vista and put windows seven or xp seven better

thx for ur help...i googled in the meantime and found a programm " background scan disabler " when i activate it i have nearly no lag atm and less freezes.

does anyone know sth about the prog? it helps but i dont know what it actually does hope its not "dangerous" or sth

game booster didnt really help me this background thing is something stronger it disable some wlan functions and maybe some other things im not quite sure if it disables too much cuz it makes my inet 20 times faster...

Since this is already about lag, I'll post my problem here:

First, specs:
Intel Pentium Dual Cpu T2370 1.77ghz
1,99GB Ram
Mobile Intel 965 Chipset 384 mb [Graphic Card]
Internet: 12MB Down / 2MB Up
Running Windows XP (This can't be changed because it's a school computer)


As you can see from my specs, such a low-end game as FT shouldn't be any problem, but still I have been getting complaints about lag and such from others.
My internet should be more than good enough.
Im using cabled.

I've also run Tune-up, checked for viruses, checked for spyware/adware.

maybe the graphic card? o.o
when u start FT, take a look at the Taskmanager to look for the CPU. maybe to many processes are open. this could be a problem

at first I´d try with driver updates.
There can be many problems, I will ask tomorrow Kanone for the ip of ft.
You can check your connection between your pc and to ft server.

I know a guy his problem is similiar to yours+ besides I guess his pc is better then yours.
But I´d say that his lag is worser then yours.
I also getting some lags somedays due my provider sucks :]

well, as I said, I would say you should look for new driver updates at first.

No, too many processes is not a problem. I'm using a program to get rid of all unnecessary programs running.

I've also opened the ports FT use.
